Open Doorssupports persecuted Christians by providing them with Bibles, Christian materials, training, livelihood skills, advocacy and in a whole host of other ways. We do this so that they know they are not forgotten and can stand strong to serve their communities, so that they can give life. We also seek to mobilise the church in the UK and Ireland not only to serve Christians living under religious persecution but also to learn from them what it means to be a disciple of Jesus.
Who you will be helping
Open Doors is calling on the church across the UK and Ireland to pray, and to give financial support – to keep hope alive for families who have been forced to flee their homes by IS and other extremists. There are 19,000 Christian refugee families from Syria and Iraq that Open Doors provides for. They are trapped – unable to leave the region or to return home; they have little or no support from their government. So – if we – their Christian family don’t help them – who will? As we pray for mothers, fathers, sons, daughters, grandmothers and grandfathers in Syria and Iraq, we remember that we are the body of Christ. We are their family. And we stand with them – because this is family business.
Spread the word
Open Doors is working for the long term through local partners who are helping the church in Syria, Iraq and the region to survive, stay, shine. The rise of extremism threatens to engulf whole nations in spiritual darkness. Please join us as we act with urgency to ensure the church in the Middle East can survive.
